Proud to support National Student Pride 2016

Ultimate Planet are delighted to announce that we will be working together with National Student Pride for another year!

National Student Pride 2015 will be held at the University of Westminster’s Marylebone campus on the 5th-7th February 2016, and we’ll be there again both on the day and hosting our popular LBQ Saturday night social.

Naomi Bennett-Hall, Co-Founder of Ultimate Planet said:

“We are absolutely delighted that following our successful partnership with National Student Pride in 2015 through our Planet London website that we are partnering up again. The [2015] event was so well run, and the inclusion of a theme with informative panels alongside career networking opportunities and live entertainment makes for a must go-to event that just continues to grow each year.

2016 sees the launch of our national website, Planet Nation, so we are looking forward to being able to support, entertain and inform cis and trans LBQ students past, present and future across the UK. We look forward to meeting many students on the day and will be sharing discounts, offers, freebies, opportunities and also having some fun!”

This year Student Pride’s core focus is the difficult, but vital discussion of Mental Health, which disproportionately affects LGBT people.

Student Pride have also confirmed a Coming Out discussion in conjunction with the R U Coming Out website created by Rainbow List high flyer Wayne Dhesi. In a further exciting development a YouTube panel made up of LGBT YouTubers and a TV-style live chat show will also take place.

The serious elements of the the weekend will be coupled by an infamous G-A-Y Homecoming Party under the arches at London's biggest club Heaven.

Some huge names have already been confirmed for the careers fair, the largest of its kind too. Fujitsu, the Royal Navy, the RAF, Ditch The Label, PwC and Teach First are just some of the 30+ organisations already signed up with organisers expecting to beat last years 50 stalls once again situated next to the performance stage which saw a raft of music, cabaret and spoken word last year.

National Student Pride is being platinum-sponsored in 2016 by EY for the sixth consecutive year. Liz Bingham (Managing Partner for People, UK & Ireland at EY and Student Pride ambassador) said:

“We are very proud to support National Student Pride for another year. At EY we are passionate about enabling people to come together in an environment where they feel included and respected. National Student Pride enables LGBT students to do just that”.

Law firm Clifford Chance are gold sponsors. Aviva, IBM and Enterprise Rent-a-car are silver sponsors.

The event began at Oxford Brookes University in 2005 as a response to the Christian Union’s ‘Homosexuality and the Bible’ talk. Student Pride continues this mantra in its 10th year. Student pride has chosen to hold its 2016 event at on campus because the fight Students face against LGBT phobia is unfortunately just as prevalent as when we started.

Tickets for the event will be on sale from December 4th, launched with a party at Ku Klub, located at Ku Bar Lisle Street, in the heart of London’s Soho Queer scene. Check out the Facebook Event.
