Oh what a Pride, let's celebrate & party

Pride in London - that time of year where London is swamped with events and where suddenly the LGBT community is everywhere... thing is there isn't always that much for women. This article includes our top 4 choices, LBQ events for women and other unofficial events taking place.

Planet Nation's commitment to women's events

Planet Nation entered into several talks with Pride in London (marketing, comms & co-chairs) to support more women's events at Pride in London. After several detailed conversations, and lots of ideas and information silence followed for 2 months, after which I was told it was too late to arrange this year (it was still May at this time). Obviously I'm very disappointed with this.

Planet Nation is dedicated to the women's community and works hard to support it. If you run women's events anywhere in the UK and would like free promotion via my channels, please get in touch.

Women's participation at Pride in London

Having looked at the official Pride in London events schedule, there are 13 officially affiliated events specifically aimed at or run by LBQ women. Putting this into perspective there are over 80 events on the calendar. Of course, a lot of these events are LGBT, but knowing how the women's community in the most part prefers women-only events - I can see these being fully booked so don't delay in getting signed up before they sell out! Also, there are at least 9 events that are taking place that aren't officially affiliated with Pride in London (listed further down the page).

Please note: any events that are officially affiliated with Pride in London and have a fee; a proportion of the fee will go to Pride in London towards running Pride in London. Non-affiliated events pay no fees to Pride in London and 100% of any fee goes directly to the promoter in the community.
