Club Indigo kicked off Brighton Pride's Friday night with the sound of Hannah Brackenbury compering. Hannah never ceases to entertain. Both in her performances of 80's and 90's classics like Guns and Roses, Bonjovi and Queen and in the amazing line up, she'd organised.
We R Bob are a Brighton based duo who have been together 8 years, and it shows. One on the Oboe, one standing out in her stripey pants while playing the guitar. The audience went from that beginning of the night - staid and sober standing to jigging along and singing with the girls to their own versions of classic hits and a few of their own songs thrown in to show us their style. By the time they finished with their medley including "Hey Big Spender", everyone was moving and ready for the final act, Greymatter.
Greymatter are also Brighton based. I've seen them so many times, I could think I don't need to see them again. However, they grab my attention every single time. They are a 5 piece folk band and could sell out the gig on their own. They were the perfect finale to an amazing night, with many people staying to party for the first night of the Pride weekend.
