DJ Izzy Trixx

1. What was your first DJ event?

Cambridge University's LGBT night on Mondays at Bar Room Bar 'The Cow'.

2. How long have you been a DJ?

Approximately 3 years.

3. How would you describe your DJ style?

Electro Mainstream Dubstep. I like to play a bit of DnB every now as well.

4. What nights do you currently DJ at?

Gayme Girls nights (inconsistent dates)
Wham Baam - Wednesdays @ The Place Nightclub, Cambridge
Grand Union Bars all around London

5. What genres of music do you play?

Everything! My preferences are Electro Mainstream Dubstep and DnB but i love dropping some grimy hip-hop/RnB during my sets. Every crowd is different so I usually try and play what I think they will enjoy the most.

6. What is your all-time favourite track?

At the moment it is Kyoto - Skrillex but I can never pick one it seems to change every hour haha.

7. What is your guilty pleasure?

B52's love shack. Doesnt seem to matter what time in the night it is or what you play before it, it always seems to fit in. i think i've played it at almost every gig ive ever done...

8. How and why did you become a DJ?

I got some starter MIDI decks for christmas so just decided to go with it and see what happens! The more I learnt the more expensive my decks got so I was broke for a long time.I've been playing music since about five years old starting with the piano and I play lead guitar in classic rock band 'Stoker' so music has always been a part of my life. I just fell in love with djing and decided to make it my career.

9. What has been your best DJ gig so far?

Girls club together at Den and Centro on the 2 June 2012. It was amazing, really good crowd, amazing vibe and its awesome to play with dj's with the complete opposite style to you.

10. When you're not a DJ what events do you like to go to?

I much prefer going to clubs rather than bars. I have no favourites in particular as of yet. I like to try as many different places as possible regardless of what genre and hearing the way other djs play, i always end up learning something new.
