Bush Hall, London - 1 October 2015
Joined by a full band, Horse's songs filled the iconic Bush Hall venue for a crowd-pleasing evening of musical entertainment.
Opening with Beccy Cole supporting, over from Australia to introduce herself and her wife Libby to the London music scene, bringing Australian country charm, amazing vocals and original songs as well as a good dollop of humour. Warming the crowd through charm and talent.
The tension built as stage hands set up Horse's full accompaniment and then the legend entered the stage. Having only seen Horse perform either acoustically or with piano accompaniment previously, it was a real treat to experience the full live effect.
With a mix of songs from her 25 year career, the set list took us on a real journey, with the highlights being the tracks from the Home album. Storytelling is clearly the heart of all Horse's songs and the re-workings of women's stories to music in their words showed the magic of bringing together lyrics and instruments - haunting.
A very enjoyable and entertaining evening that treats the fans like old friends and gives comfort as well as excitement as the nights start to grow cold.
